The Cupping Tester is designed to evaluate the extensibility and adhesion quality of protective coatings such as paints, varnishes, and similar materials applied to metal substrates.
It is equipped with a 20 mm diameter steel ball punch. By applying pressure on the coated test panel and gradually deforming it, the tester evaluates the coating’s resistance to cracking or detachment from the substrate. This makes it an excellent instrument for quality control and coating performance assessment.
