Client Background
The client is a Russian agricultural machinery manufacturer primarily producing tractor components, seeder metal structural parts, agricultural machinery supports, and protective covers. Because some of their products are used extensively in outdoor farm environments, the client sought to improve the protection and appearance of metal surfaces, while also requiring the powder coating to be compatible with their existing electrostatic spraying production line.Client Needs
The client provided us with product photos and spraying process information for some agricultural machinery metal parts, highlighting several key requirements:1. The coating needs to have good adhesion and abrasion resistance;
2. Outdoor-use metal parts need to have good weather resistance;
3. Large, complex workpieces require effective powder coating on edges and recessed areas;
4. The products primarily use dark green and black colors, and good color consistency between different batches is desired;
5. The powder coating needs to be compatible with the client's existing electrostatic spraying and high-temperature curing processes.
Product Matching
Based on the client's usage environment and workpiece characteristics, we recommended an outdoor-grade pure polyester powder coating and matched it to the client's commonly used dark green and black colors.Before the formal bulk purchase, we arranged for samples for the client to demonstrate actual spraying. The customer conducted a trial spray using their existing spraying equipment and completed the curing process according to their original production procedures.
During the trial spraying, we focused on assisting the customer in adjusting the spray gun distance, spray angle, and powder dosage to ensure more even powder coverage of the brackets, reinforcing ribs, and corners.
Sample Confirmation
After multiple rounds of sample confirmation, the customer generally approved the coating's color, surface smoothness, adhesion, and overall appearance.Especially on agricultural machinery brackets and metal protective parts, the cured coating exhibited uniform color and stable surface texture, meeting the customer's existing product appearance and protection requirements.
Subsequently, the customer applied this powder coating to the formal production of some agricultural machinery parts and continued to develop color matching solutions based on the different product color requirements.
Collaboration Results
This collaboration progressed step-by-step from product requirement communication, powder selection, color matching, sample trial spraying to mass production.Compared to simply providing standard powder products, we offered targeted product suggestions based on the customer's specific workpieces and spraying processes, helping the customer successfully implement the powder coating. Currently, both parties are maintaining ongoing communication and working on subsequent product matching for different agricultural machinery metal parts.
