Project Background
This Thai client primarily manufactures steel structural components and industrial support components. Their products are widely used in outdoor engineering facilities and industrial equipment throughout Southeast Asia. In the harsh environment of Southeast Asia, characterized by high humidity and high salt spray, the corrosion resistance of metal structural components is a key factor determining product lifespan and safety.Client's Urgent Problems
Previously, using traditional coating systems resulted in issues such as localized rust in salt spray environments, frequent coating maintenance, and insufficient service life, making it difficult to meet the demands of long-term outdoor use.Our Solution
Targeting the client's operating environment and corrosion protection requirements, our company provides a high-performance epoxy zinc-rich powder primer system, focusing on optimizing the following properties:1. Provides cathodic protection against corrosion, improving the basic protection capability of steel.
2. Enhances coating density, reducing moisture and oxygen penetration.
3. Improves adhesion and compatibility with subsequent topcoat systems.
4. Optimizes coating application window, improving production line adaptability.
5. Simultaneously, based on the client's existing spraying process, curing conditions and film thickness control parameters have been optimized to better suit mass production needs.
Application Results
After field testing and mass application, this system has demonstrated stable performance in the highly corrosive environment of Thailand:- Significantly improved salt spray test performance
- Significantly reduced rust problems on steel structure surfaces
- Stable and reliable coating adhesion
- Significantly extended maintenance cycle and reduced overall costs
